Managing Director
The Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) is the regulatory body responsible for the efficient management of the radio frequency spectrum in Jamaica, which includes licensing spectrum users and regulating their use of the spectrum.
The SMA is seeking to identify a suitably qualified individual to fill the post of Managing Director. This is the most senior executive job in the Spectrum Management Authority.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director has day-to-day operating responsibility for the Spectrum Management Authority, including its programs, projects, personnel, resources and results, and is expected to manage all these to facilitate the organization achieving its vision, mission and goals. The remit of the SMA involves community, national, regional and international dimensions and its achievement devolves primarily upon the position of the Managing Director.
1. Master’s Degree in a specialized and or related discipline of Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology or Business Administration and at least seven (7) years senior management experience.
OR
Undergraduate Degree in a specialized and or related discipline of Telecommunications, Engineering or Information Technology along with advanced professional training in the specialized field and at least ten (10) years management experience.

8. Outstanding leadership competencies in the areas of planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling.
9. Computer literacy.
10. Demonstrated outstanding analytical, strategic thinking.
11. High level of verbal and numerical critical reasoning.
12. Strong theoretical appreciation of critical spectrum management and telecommunications issues.
13. Ability to interact at the highest level with senior industry and government officials, both local and international.
14. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Salary Package
- Basic Salary of $4,365,393 - $5,456,741 per annum.
- Fully maintained Motor Vehicle.
- Two (2) year contract (renewable).
- Gratuity (25% of basic salary per annum) payable at end of contract period.
