A broadcast authorisation grants the holder permission to use a portion of the radio frequency spectrum in a given geographical area for broadcasting purposes. In some cases, a single frequency or a band of frequencies may be assigned based on the parameters of the licence issued by the Broadcasting Commission and the spectrum which is available. Where feasible, the Authority re-uses spectrum to maximise the number of broadcasters which may be accommodated.
