Interference is the effect of unwanted energy due to one or a combination of:

  • emissions, radiations, or inductions in a radio communication system

It is manifested by:

  • any performance degradation
  • misinterpretation
  • loss of information

These can be extracted in the absence of such unwanted energy (National Spectrum Management 2005).

Interference Reporting

Interference processing is a complex task which justifies the reason for detailed description of any reports made.

Reports may be made by completing a form. In making the report, the following information must be included:

  • Name, address and telephone number of the party experiencing the interference
  • Complete description of the interfered with Radio station (type, frequency, assignment number, location)
  • Data on the occurrence of the interference (when first noticed, time frequency, whether regular or sporadic)
