The Authority is seeking to identify highly motivated, dynamic professionals to fill the following positions:

Accountant

The Radio Frequency Spectrum is the medium which facilitates wireless communication. The Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) is the regulatory body responsible for the efficient management of the radio frequency spectrum in Jamaica, which includes licensing spectrum users and regulating their use of the spectrum. The Authority is seeking to identify highly motivated, dynamic professionals to fill the following positions:

Accountant
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the Accountant compiles and analyzes financial information, and assists with the preparation of financial statements and related reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
_ B.Sc. Accounting or equivalent.
_ A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and ACCPAC.
_ Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act.
_ At least five (5) years’ experience in general accounting.
_ A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in accounts payables and accounts receivables.
_ Good oral and written communication skills.
_ Good interpersonal skills.
_ Excellent customer service attitude.
_ Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Senior Accounting Clerk
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the Senior Accounting Clerk performs accounts receivable and other accounting functions according to established procedures. The ideal candidate will have:
_ A Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Certificate or equivalent.
_ A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and ACCPAC.
_ At least three (3) years’ experience in general accounting.
_ Experience in accounts payables and receivables.
_ Good oral and written communication skills.
_ Excellent customer service attitude.
_ Good interpersonal skills.

Administrative Assistant
Reporting to the Director of the Finance and Administration Division, the Administrative Assistant provides secretarial support to the Divisional Director and undertakes basic accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have:
_ Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent.
_ Sound understanding of basic accounting concepts.
_ A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
_ Knowledge of modern business practices and office procedures.
_ At least four (4) years’ experience in administration.
_ One year’s experience in basic accounting.
_ Good oral and written communication skills.
_ Excellent customer service attitude.
_ Good interpersonal skills.
